Prisoners’ Aid Association of NSW has released its Statement of Income and Expenditure for the year ended 30 June 2013, reporting a healthy operating surplus.

Income

  • Total Income: $427,136
    • Corrective Services NSW – Inmate Support Program: $397,935
    • Donations & Subscriptions: $25,752
    • Interest & Dividends: $2,802 combined
    • Profit on Sale of Capital Items: $627

Expenses

  • Client Assistance: $9,243
  • Other Expenses: $402,550
    • Salaries: $220,408 (largest single expense)
    • Rent: $78,154
    • Motor Vehicle Expenses: $21,910
    • Depreciation: $15,756
    • Superannuation: $19,863

When combined, total expenditures reached $411,793.

Overall Result

  • Operating Surplus: $15,343

By keeping its operational costs in check while sustaining strong funding from Corrective Services NSW, the Association closes 2012/13 on a positive note. This surplus further bolsters Prisoners’ Aid NSW’s capacity to support individuals transitioning out of the justice system.
