The Prisoners’ Aid Association of NSW has released its Statement of Income and Expenditure for the year ended 30 June 2014. Despite some fluctuations in income streams and expenses, the Association recorded a solid operating surplus.

Income

  • Total Income: $424,225
    • Corrective Services NSW – Inmate Support Program: $402,012
    • Donations & Subscriptions: $19,513
    • Interest, Dividends, Miscellaneous: $3,040 combined (including a small loss of $340 on the sale of capital items)

Expenses

  • Total Expenditure: $409,395
    • Client Assistance: $4,621
    • Salaries: $219,503 (the largest single expense)
    • Motor Vehicle Expenses: $22,251
    • Rent: $81,035
    • Insurance, Cleaning, General Costs: Covered a range of operational needs
    • Superannuation: $20,385

Overall Result

  • Operating Surplus: $14,830

By carefully managing costs while maintaining key income sources—most notably funding from Corrective Services NSW—the Association ended 2013/14 on a positive financial note. This surplus strengthens its ability to continue supporting individuals transitioning from incarceration, demonstrating the organization’s commitment to both fiscal responsibility and community impact.
