Centrelink Payments to Increase in March 2025 – In March 2025, millions of Australians receiving Centrelink benefits will see an increase in their payments as part of the government’s biannual indexation process. This adjustment aims to align social security payments with the current cost of living, providing additional financial support to those in need.

Key Changes Effective from March 20, 2025

1. Age Pension

  • Single Pensioners: Expected to receive a modest increase per fortnight.
  • Couples (Combined): A slight rise in payments to help cover everyday expenses.

2. JobSeeker Payment

  • Single, No Children: An increase will be applied to assist job seekers.
  • Single, With Dependent Children or Aged 55 and Over: Payment adjustments will be confirmed closer to the date.

3. Disability Support Pension (DSP)

  • Single Recipients: Expected to receive a small boost in line with indexation.

4. Commonwealth Rent Assistance

  • Singles Without Children: A rise in maximum fortnightly payments.
  • Couples Without Children: A combined increase to assist with rental costs.
  • Families With Children: Adjusted payments to support families managing housing expenses.

Additional Changes

  • JobSeeker Compliance Adjustments: New JobSeeker recipients will experience changes in compliance requirements, allowing for a smoother transition into the workforce.
  • Carer Payment Flexibility: Carers will have more flexibility in employment hours without affecting their payments.
