Chair Steps Down After Securing New CEO for Prisoners Aid NSW

After 11 years’ service at Prisoners Aid NSW, Tim Laporte will step down from his role as Chair of the Board. We extend our deepest gratitude to Tim for his dedication and impactful service during his tenure.

Tanya McCabe will take on the Chair role. Tanya has worked tirelessly over the last year since joining the Board, showing great leadership, passion and commitment to our cause. Tanya has held senior HR, Customer Experience, Technology, Operations and Strategy roles in a range of sectors including insurance, mining, health, professional services, and infrastructure. A true generalist her expertise lies in strategic planning, HR & leadership enablement, corporate governance, and risk management.

These changes follow on from having secured a new leader and CEO for the business - Paul Gabrielides. Paul was the CEO of Phoenix House and brings a wealth of business experience and a strong commitment to social justice and welfare. Paul’s Qualifications in Education and Counselling along with his extensive experience in Business Development and Leadership are the perfect mix to lead PAA through its growth strategy.

We’re excited to have Paul lead the organisation and support his vision for the future!

For over a century, we’ve been helping people make the most of life after incarceration and help remove the many barriers they face. We remain steadfast in our mission by equipping people with the essential skills, resources, support and services needed for a fresh start.

This new leadership team will continue to strengthen our efforts and work hard to maximise our impact, whilst ensuring our ongoing sustainability.
